Sazavafest is coming and the organizators have made many wrinkles for festival’s fans. Suprise from czech side will prepare Sto zvířat, the regular performer of Sazavafest festival, announced their intention to create a record on this festival by playing 100 songs during the 3 days event. “The whole marathon will be divided into 3 genre sets – Oldies, Janies, and Čerstvees,” said Jan Kalina, the frontman of Sto zvířat. The 12th anniversary of Sázavafest will let its visitors enjoy the mega show celebrating the 50th birthday with the writer Michal Viewegh, as well as will Mňága a žďorp band celebrate its 25th anniversary in summer Benešov with their fans.
The next, as a brand new project for the Sázavafest 2012 at Zelený ostrov in Benešov u Prahy, the organizers announced the new dance hall Promopro DANCE HALL for 5 000 people that will be entertaining the visitors of Sázavafest with the sounds of both local and international DJs of 21.century. The fans can look forward to DJ Sak Noel, Mike Candys, Dennis Sheperd, Chris Sadler and DJ Paul Oakenfold.
Further performing at this year's Sázavafest are Kaiser Chiefs, Fun Lovin‘ Criminals, Skindred, Yellow Umbrella, Molotov, You Say France & I Whistle, Coby Grant , Lyre Le Temps and many others foreign and domestic bands worth a listen. The organizers of this festival are not afraid try to new things and that’s why they have run a competition “Sázavafest Battle”. New and talented band and singers from the Czech Republic can perform in front of festival fans and many successful Czech bands and interprets already have formed from this competition.
We could see the first steps in 2001. These steps were full of assurance and determination. It is already twelve years since the festival was formed they have been made a huge progress connected with increase of attendance. Nowadays it amounts more than 21.000 festival fans.
Organizers of the festival inform about the pre-sale price of the ticket for the 3 days of the festival (Aug 2 – Aug 5, 2012) being available for 1.190 CZK, 1.600 on the place. Tickets can be purchased from Ticketportal (www.ticketportal.cz).
The best way to accommodate for whole festival time is the tent city. It is located inside the festival grounds and is equipped with basic washroom facilities. The whole grounds are equipped with their own drinking water system, and wash-up stations and showers with hot water will be free of charge in the tent city. The tickets into tent city are available from Ticketportal (www.ticketportal.cz) for 250 CZK per person for 3 days. Those who do not want to use the tent city can find accommodation at one of the local pensions or hotels.
Aside from concert sets, you can also look forward to the accompanying program. In the previous year there was the dance and relaxation studio Tanytany or Urbano zumba Latino – zumba lessons with the best Czech instructors. Of course there will also be a festival village offering a variety stands with various refreshments, as well as books, CDs, T-shirts, beads, jewellery, piercings, tattoos, henna, sport and workshops. Visitors will also be able to go swimming in the near-by stylish outdoor Sladovka swimming pool from the 1930s. Live concerts will also take place here during the festival. Entry to the pool is free.
Every visitor should make sure to bring their health card, ID card, enough money (you can only pay in cash in Czech currency at the festival), sunglasses, a swimsuit, raincoat, toilet paper, tent and sleeping bag.
